• Looking for your next Data Engineering challenge in a large-scale enterprise environment?

We're currently seeking a Data Engineer to join a leading Belgian company on a long-term renewable freelance assignment.

• Location: Charleroi, Belgium
• Hybrid: Minimum 2 days/week onsite
• Long-term contract

• Your Mission

As part of a Data Factory team, you'll contribute to the development, maintenance, and evolution of a modern Azure & Microsoft Fabric data platform.

• Key Responsibilities

• Develop data ingestion pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory

• Build and maintain data transformation processes through Fabric Notebooks

• Optimize queries and data processing performance while controlling Azure costs

• Design and implement Lakehouse architectures

• Define and deploy Medallion Architecture (Silver & Gold layers)

• Create and execute automated unit tests

• Participate in solution design and development effort estimations

• Produce and maintain technical documentation

• Support production environments and incident resolution

• Contribute to continuous improvement and development best practices

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer

• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric

• Good understanding of Azure Data Factory

• Experience building scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms

• Comfortable with architecture, optimization, testing, and production support

• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

• Fluent in French and/or English

• Able to work regularly onsite in Gosselies

• A driving licence and personal vehicle are strongly preferred.
