Maintenance Technician - #52536

EDR Antwerp Shipyard is the largest shipyard in Belgium, specialised in ship maintenance and repairs, hull treatment and marine construction. Challenging activities require skilful and motivated team members. Over 150 vessels annually are repaired and maintained at our shipyard in Antwerp, and projects are performed on board vessels across the world.

As a Maintenance Mechanic (onderhoudstechnieker / onderhoudsmechanieker), you ensure the reliability, safety and continuous operation of the shipyard’s technical assets. You carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of installations, machinery and infrastructure. You also support key operational shipyard activities.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on shipyard installations and machinery
• Maintain and repair dry docks, pump rooms and quay or gantry cranes
• Service workshop equipment such as overhead cranes, compressors and machining tools
• Maintain technical installations within new buildings, including HVAC systems, gates and fire detection systems
• Support operational activities such as dock block positioning and docking and undocking of vessels
• Register and follow up maintenance activities in a digital maintenance management system
• Work a daytime schedule from 7:00 to 15:30 with participation in a rotation system requiring occasional work until 18:00
• Participate in occasional weekend work when required

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician
• Broad technical knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices
• Hands on, solution oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and quality
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an operational shipyard environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours within a rotation system
