Global Process Owner (GPO) - Order-to-Cash | Customer Orders, Billing & Cash Collection - #49930
UCB
Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Global Process Owner (GPO) – Order-to-Cash | Customer Orders, Billing & Cash Collection to join us in our HQ office in Brussels, Belgium.
About the role
You will play a key role in shaping how the organization structures and governs how customer demand is translated into revenue and cash across our global organization.
As Global Process Owner for Order-to-Cash, you will own the end-to-end process connecting customer orders, fulfilment coordination, billing accuracy, collections, and cash realization, and act as a key guardian of process compliance in the context of ongoing changes and transformations.
You will help improve the coherence of commercial, customer service, supply chain, and finance interactions, ensuring more consistent and efficient outcomes across regions and functions. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer operations or finance process experience, combined with a passion for process excellence, collaboration, and transformation in a global environment.
This is a senior enterprise role focused on alignment, governance, and end-to-end performance. It is not designed to replace commercial, supply, or finance ownership, but to connect them more effectively across the full customer-to-cash value chain. Success in this role is reflected in the consistent execution of Order-to-Cash processes across regions, improved transparency and control, strengthened compliance, and the ability to enable effective cross-functional collaboration while supporting transformation and business priorities.
Who you'll work with
You will be working in a team that connects process expertise across the full value chain and helps the organization operate in a more joined-up way.
The team brings together leaders responsible for key end-to-end processes and works closely with commercial teams, customer service, supply chain, finance, regional experts, digital teams, and senior stakeholders at headquarters.
In this role, you will partner with colleagues across countries and functions to align ways of working, improve governance, and support important business transformation initiatives. You will also help build a strong community of process experts and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and enterprise thinking.
You will work in close partnership with functional leaders and experts, bringing an end-to-end view that helps teams make more informed decisions and improve process performance in a coordinated way.
What you'll do
- Define and govern the global Order-to-Cash process from order capture through fulfilment coordination, invoicing, collections, and cash realization, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach across functions and geographies.
- Identify improvement and automation opportunities across the process, using data, process insight, and structured problem-solving to improve service, accuracy, and cash performance.
- Partner with commercial, customer service, supply chain, finance, digital, and regional teams to align process design, resolve cross-functional issues, and support successful delivery of transformation initiatives.
- Establish clear process standards, documentation, controls, training, and performance measures to support compliance, process adoption, and sustainable execution across the organization.
- Support major enterprise projects by ensuring Order-to-Cash processes are well designed, connected to upstream and downstream activities, and aligned with business priorities.
- Build and strengthen a network of business experts, helping develop process capabilities, promote best practice, and embed a process-first mindset across the organization.
- Shape and support transformation initiatives and major programs (including wave-based deployments) by identifying and prioritizing process improvement opportunities, guiding end-to-end process design, and ensuring alignment across functions, systems, and governance, in partnership with business and functional teams responsible for implementation and adoption.
- Support structured change adoption by contributing to change impact assessments, defining adoption priorities, and ensuring business readiness and stakeholder alignment, while partnering with functions accountable for execution, training delivery, and post-implementation stabilization.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Significant experience in customer operations, commercial operations, finance operations, or transformation, with strong knowledge of order management, invoicing, collections, and cash realization.
- Around 15 years of professional experience in complex international environments, ideally within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong business background with the ability to work across functions, connect end-to-end processes, and translate business needs into practical improvements.
- Experience in process excellence methods such as Lean or Six Sigma; certification at Green Belt or Black Belt level is an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to listen, influence, challenge constructively, and build alignment across senior and cross-functional groups.
- High emotional intelligence, strong customer mindset, and the ability to manage ambiguity, tensions, and competing priorities with maturity.
- Exposure to enterprise planning, commercial, or finance systems is helpful, but this role does not require deep technical expertise.
- Excellent English communication skills are required; additional language skills may be helpful depending on location and stakeholder scope.
