Junior Software Engineer – Talent Academy - #45833

You will build strong foundations in software development, working across different environments such as fullstack development, backend systems, Java-based applications, or even mainframe technologies. From day one, you learn by doing, supported by experienced engineers, while developing step by step.

You will work on technology-driven projects, contributing to the development, optimisation, and maintenance of digital platforms and systems. These projects help organisations modernise their IT landscape, improve performance, and build scalable and secure solutions.

Your Tasks

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications in environments such as fullstack, backend, Java, or mainframe.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to system design and implementation of new features and functionalities.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in testing activities, including unit testing and integration testing.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of applications.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge within the team.

Your Skills

• You recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• You have a good foundation in programming and software development (through your studies, projects or internships)
• You’ve worked with at least one programming language (such as Java, Python, JavaScript, COBOL, …) — no need to be an expert yet
• You’re motivated to learn, improve and grow step by step, with support from experienced colleagues
• You enjoy solving problems and understanding how systems work
• You like working in a team and are open to feedback and collaboration
• You communicate clearly and are comfortable working in an international environment
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or French
