Global Purchasing Manager

The Job

As a Global Purchasing Manager, you define and secure an efficient execution of the procurement strategies in line with Septentrio’s business goals securing the best total cost of ownership while ensuring continuity of supply.

Your Mission

• Develop purchasing strategies to maximize value from suppliers while supporting high service levels, cost savings, sustainability and innovation (PLC) goals.
• Managing supplier relationships: negotiating contracts, resolving disputes and building a robust supplier eco-system to ensure supply chain resilience, reliability and quality.
• Leading the procurement team: supervising, coaching and develop purchasers and other staff to ensure high performance and efficient purchasing operations.
• Controlling budget and costs: Define and monitor purchasing KPIs, spends, inventory impacts and identifying saving opportunities.
• Data and Systems: Ensure accuracy and integrity of supplier and procurement data in SAP ERP system. Leverage data analytics and digitization to support efficient decision-making and performance tracking.
• Train and promote purchasing best practices across all Septentrio departments.
• Compliance and risk management: Implement and maintain legal, ESG and company standards while proactively identifying and anticipating supply chain risks.
• Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional collaboration with production, finance, industrialization, R&D teams and Hexagon supply chain peers.
  
  

Qualifications

Business Skills

• Track record in purchasing (RFI, RFQ, supplier evaluation, contract definition, price negotiations
• Good knowledge of logistic and supply chain processes (S&OP, Inventory Management, VMI, consignment, 2-bin, incoterms…)
• Good knowledge in business administration (BOM, product costing, TCO, ROI, P&L, …)
• Good knowledge in process management and optimization (LEAN, ISO certification,..)
• Good knowledge of Septentrio key production technologies and markets: electronics, connectors, enclosures and cables
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in purchasing, including leadership experience
• Successful experience in project management and/or contract negotiations
• Intercultural and global organization experience
  
  

Education

• Technical or Economical Master or Bachelor with track record in industrial purchasing
• Supply Chain related certifications is a plus
  
  

IT-Skills

• SAP ERP, MRP system (Procurement, MRP, Inventory and Costing)
• Microsoft Office
• JIRA & Confluence
• Basic knowledge of PDM, design tools is a plus
  
  

Languages

• Fluent in English
• Basic knowledge in French and/or Dutch or ready to learn
• All other languages are an asset
